Built for water that never drains away.
A liquid elastomeric waterproofing membrane reinforced with microfibres and a high aluminium content, for waterproofing and continuous ponding water — i.e. internal gutters. Eagle DoubleCoat provides waterproofing and solar reflection on most types of roof surface including galvanised steel, iron, zinc, asbestos, cement, roofing felt, asphalt and bituminous roof coatings.
Problems it solves
- Internal and box gutters holding standing water
- Membranes that fail under permanent ponding
- Rusting gutter linings on commercial roofs
- Hot buildings that need solar-reflective roofing
Where it's used
Description
Eagle DoubleCoat Liquid Waterproofing provides waterproofing and solar reflection on most types of roof surfaces including galvanised steel, iron, zinc, asbestos, cement, roofing felt, asphalt and bituminous roof coatings. Being elastomeric and self-reinforced with microfibres and a high aluminium content, Eagle DoubleCoat needs just one coat and can be installed quickly on its own, or in combination with a carrier membrane which achieves up to a 15-year guarantee thanks to its tough polyester reinforcement and UV protection.
Features & benefits
- Resistant to chemical attack — proven in highly aggressive environments such as chemical and dairy factories, with high resistance to acid rain and chemical attack
- Energy saving — high reflection capacity delivering around 30% saving on electricity bills for owners and developers
- Self-reinforced — micro-fibres act as a carrier, cutting application time compared with systems needing multiple coats and embedded reinforcement
- Permanently elastomeric — cold applied, one-layer application, bridges small holes, cracks and splits
- Easily repaired — any damage to the roof can be patched with DoubleCoat
- Wide range of guarantees available from 10 years+. Exceeds ASTM D2824
Coverage
The rate of application is between 1–2 square metres per litre per coat, depending on the condition of the surface. Do not coat windows, roof lights, glass or translucent sheets as they will constitute a hidden hazard. We reccomend coating no more than 7 square meters per 5litre tin.
Drying time
Drying time is around 1–2 hours in most weather conditions. We always recommend a trial area is coated to ensure the product meets your requirements before use.

Application
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust and loose debris. Freshly applied coatings should be allowed to weather for 2 weeks prior to the application of DoubleCoat. All traces of fungi and algae growth should be removed using a stiff bristled brush or low-pressure water jet, and the surface then treated with a fungicidal wash. Stir the container thoroughly before use so no deposits are left in the bottom of the tin. DoubleCoat may be applied by brush or spray. Do not apply in wet weather, when rain is threatened, or when poor drying conditions exist. As a protective measure on most well-prepared surfaces in sound condition, one layer of DoubleCoat is normally adequate. Asbestos, cement and porous surfaces should first be primed with Eagle fast drying primer.

NoxydeNoxyde Anti-Corrosion Coating
Paint straight over prepared rust, stopping corrosion for decades.
Noxyde is the only anti-corrosion waterproofing membrane on the market that can be applied directly over clean, prepared rust — no separate primer required. For over 29 years it has protected New Zealand's most severe coastal environments, from saltwater estuary bridges to iconic steel roofs. It is also used to extend the life and safely encapsulate asbestos roofs, locking fibres in place and adding decades of waterproof protection without the cost of removal.
